Evaluation process

Events evaluation

The Resource Alliance evaluates every workshop, seminar or conference we present or co-present in all our focus regions. Evaluating is very important to us, as we aim for the highest quality and want to learn how to make events even better. We set ourselves a target rate of 80% for overall delegate satisfaction. As part of our commitment to transparency we publish evaluation scores on our website so you can see what our delegates think of our events.

We also aim to involve increasing numbers of people in our workshops and seminars. Through our regional workshops and events we are reaching out to people from a wide range of countries, the majority of whom have had no previous training in fundraising. Typically 80% of delegates are attending a fundraising training event for the first time. For the International Workshop on Resource Mobilisation and the International Fundraising Congress we collect data on the proportion of delegates who have attended a previous IWRM or IFC. The IWRM is a relatively new event, and taking place in the South tends to attract a lot of people who have not attended before. The IFC on the other hand attracts a high proportion of delegates who have attended before, around 50%.

We are standardising evaluation procedures for all events but do depend on the collaboration and support of partner organisations for some workshops. On occasions, some of the data we would like to have is not available. Where data was not available this is indicated as n/a.
