2006 South Asia Regional Workshop
Developing Sustainability: Meeting the needs of civil society in South Asia

The event aimed at building the capacity of the organisations to mobilise local resources and establish greater financial stability and independence, and offered a fantastic opportunity for participants to address the trends and challenges facing the non-profit sector in South Asia.
The workshop was attended by 100 delegates from 7 countries and 58 organisations
The event featured a mix of international speakers, as well as local speakers from the region. Present were three international speakers – Tony Elischer, David Zerman and Sarah Barzel. Other speakers included Jasmine Wadhawan and Lilani Jayasuriya, as well as a number of local speakers who shared their experiences & expertise in different areas.
The event featured a mix of plenaries, mini-course sessions and the Funders Forumcovering a range of topics including corporate partnerships, proposal writing, branding, events, and financial management for NGOs.
The main workshop programme was also preceded by a full-day masterclass on Financial Management, run by Lilani Jayasuriya from CARM.
