Houssam Chahine (UAE)

Chief of Private Sector Partnerships for the MENA region, UNHCR
Houssam has served as the head of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ (UNHCR) Private Sector Partnerships in the MENA Region since 2011. He is responsible for the development of private sector fundraising programs in the region and overlooks the development of UNHCR’s global Refugee Zakat Fund. Prior to joining UNHCR, Houssam worked with numerous non-profit organizations such as Greenpeace and Abu Dhabi Environment Agency, specializing in advocacy, fundraising campaigns, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning.
Houssam’s specialties include fundraising, stakeholder and donor management, fundraising campaigns, strategic planning, corporate social responsibility, and linking Islamic philanthropy to international causes.
