The Decision Science Lab – live!
Follow the science to design and deliver exciting experiments and learn how supporters make decisions. This practical and interactive masterclass offers you the chance to work on one of three live fundraising projects that participants will set up to happen during IFC 2022.
Potential projects include:
- Transforming the success of the fundraising charity shop in Noordwijk
- Organising a web campaign for a Amurtel, a small children’s charity in Romania
- Undertaking a face-to-face collection either at or near the conference venue
This masterclass is for you if you want to learn more about the applications of decision science in fundraising, communications, advocacy, and campaigning! Over the week that follows, participants will be able to track the impact of their projects, and there will be a follow-up webinar to review the results as a group.
Across the two days, you will learn to understand the key biases and heuristics that supporters and prospects use when making decisions, and how to thus frame propositions, web interactions, conversations, and promotional literature in a way that leads to higher gifts amounts and greater engagement. In addition, you will learn how to design experiments to ensure your results are robust.
You will leave this masterclass with an understanding of the key principles of behavioural science; how these principles apply to fundraising, campaigning, and communications; and how to apply them to practical solutions with limited budgets.
