Chriszelda has been working at the National Institute for the Deaf since 2017. When she first started she had little knowledge and involvement with fundraising, but has since learnt a lot about fundraising and believes strongly in the organisation’s purpose and mission – which is for Deaf people to develop their full potential, no matter what challenges there might be. She is the Relations Officer at NID Development, managing communications to raise awareness, as well as co-ordinating fundraising events. Chriszelda’s goal is to help people in whichever way she can, and is eager to learn and expand her knowledge and abilities to make a difference in this world – not only locally but internationally. “My wish is to shine very bright and make an impact in others’ lives”.
“I feel so privileged, honoured and blessed to have received the Carolina Nyberg-Steiser bursary programme for this years’ IFC Pop Ups in Cape Town. The information shared though-out the day was so insightful and amazing, and surely opened new ideas for me to share with our Development team – I consider our team a ‘Sticky team’ 😉 … Seeing so many people together who share the same urge to make a difference in society surely fills my heart with joy – there is definitely hope!“
