Savinda Ranathunga

International Consultant - Youth Empowerment, UNDP Asia Pacific

Savinda has engaged in the development sector over the last 9 years through his engagement with AIESEC and other youth networks. He is passionate on empowering youth for sustainable development. He also served as the national director for social projects in AIESEC in Vietnam during the term 2014-15, which enabled him to get direct exposure to the challenges in Vietnamese society and co-create projects to address them through sustainable development goals approach.
Savinda also possess many experiences with the start-up eco system through his efforts in building 5 social enterprises. His passion is to create an enabling environment for the youth entrepreneurs in Asia-Pacific Region. Currently he is coordinating the regional youth project of UNDP Asia-Pacific and reading for his PhD in Youth and Social Entrepreneurship at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
