Thomas Kurmann has been a strategic philanthropy professional for more than 20 years. As VP with Oxfam America, he is significantly growing revenue and supporters in the competitive US landscape.
Prior to Oxfam, he led the fundraising efforts for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in the US, Germany, and Switzerland. He also supervised fundraising operations in Mexico. While at MSF, he organised a number of significant online fundraising experiments based in behavioural science. Throughout his career, he has contributed to raising more than US$2.5 billion.
Thomas teaches fundraising at academic institutions and is a speaker at fundraising conferences in internationally on topics such as strategy and donor journey, business canvas and value proposition models, design thinking, innovation, and behavioural science.
