Course 

The course started in Bogota in July 2007 and finished July 2008.

The course is a hybrid of UniAndes modules and Resource Alliance material.  There are eight modules.

•  Strategic thinking
•  Board management
•  Process management
•  Financial management
•  Evaluation and learning systems
•  Strategic Alliances
•  Human talent management
•  Understanding your environment

The participating organisations are also given 3 months of consultant support to finish the implementation of the different items worked on the training process.

Twenty eight organisations took part in the pilot course. Each organisation was able to  participate with 2 people from their team. Twenty-five of these organisations had the support of Saldarriaga Concha Foundation (training process and consultants help). Two organisations had the support of Save the Children Fund but only for the training process; they don’t have consultants help. The other organisation which participated is Plan International - who helped fund the setting up of the course.

 In Medellín, EAFIT University is doing the same process with 25 organisation. The idea is to finish the process at the same time in Bogotá and Medellín.  The Saldarriaga Concha Foundation is thinking of supporting a new process in 2008 at the cities of Cali and Barranquilla with the North University of Barranquilla and ICESI University in Cali. Faculty at Uni Andes are helping them train the teachers, who will be participating in the course.
