IFC Online

Better together.

IFC Online 2021 will bring the global fundraising community together virtually for three days of inspiration, learning, and sharing from October 20-22.

Building on the success of the first virtual International Fundraising Congress (IFC) last year, this year’s programme will offer a combination of structured learning, live debates, engaging conversations, and inspirational keynotes aimed at providing you with a stimulating and exciting experience. IFC Online is more than an online congress; it’s a space to learn, share, and network, from which you will emerge inspired and energised.

Here’s what’s on offer:

  • Practical workshops with a strong focus on sharing lessons learnt and successes achieved over the past two years. These prerecorded sessions will be followed by live Q&As and are all about enhancing your fundraising skills and knowledge
  • Big Conversations that will challenge and disrupt – we’re aiming to stir things up a bit by asking the difficult questions that may be uncomfortable, but are so vitally important
  • Inspiring keynotes of the IFC gold-standard you’ve come to expect – these are not to be missed!
  • Community-driven Fringe sessions where we’ll be talking freely in a safe space. These sessions are not recorded, allowing for open debates and off-the-cuff responses

There’ll be lots of opportunities to ask questions and interact with our speakers, to network with and hear from people from all over the world, and to explore the latest services and tools from our amazing partners and sponsors.

Some of the programme highlights include:

  • The latest insights into income channels: from legacy fundraising to maximising donor retention
  • A look beyond our fundraising borders with Zakat giving, diaspora fundraising, and building movements
  • The impact of COVID-19 on fundraising gets tackled, along with digital fundraising successes and new strategic approaches
  • Inspiring new trends and innovations from through human-centred design to social intrapreneurs

Our Big Conversations will tackle key issues around #ShiftThePower and how the pandemic has changed the way we fundraise. With a stellar lineup of panellists, including Nana Afadzinu, CEO of West African Civil Society Initiative (WACSI), Danny Sriskandarajah, Chief Executive of Oxfam GB, and other fundraising leaders, these are conversation you want to be part of.

Our plenaries will feature inspiring individuals who are making change happen across the world. Our first keynote introduces a panel of young activists whose ground-breaking work is changing the world: from climate change and biodiversity to gender inequality, and from youth empowerment to robotics and STEM education. These shining stars are in the ascendant and we know they will inspire you as much as they do us.

Our second keynote will be delivered by Professor of Medicine Linda-Gail Bekker, who is COO of the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, and co-lead in the COVID-19 vaccine trials in South Africa. A born fighter, outspoken defender of civil society, and a natural fundraiser, Linda-Gail is described as “a scientist who has used innovation, technology, and even breaking rules to find better ways to do things.”

We will also hear from founder, investor, speaker, and author David S. Kidder on how we might rekindle a culture of possibility and innovation in the third sector; and from Goonj founder Anshu Gupta on reinventing the entire model on which charitable giving is based.
