IFC 2022 safeguarding policy

Safeguarding policy statement

We believe that everyone should be able to participate in and enjoy attending our events in a safe environment and be safeguarded from harm through a duty of care.

The Resource Alliance accepts responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure the safety and welfare of anyone attending our events. This Safeguarding Policy aims to ensure that everyone attending our events, regardless of age, ability or disability, gender, race, socioeconomic background, religion or belief, and sex or sexual orientation, has a positive and enjoyable experience in a safe environment where they are protected from abuse whilst participating in said event.

As part of our Safeguarding Policy, the Resource Alliance will:

  • Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all event attendees
  • Ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of incidents of, or concerns about, abuse, and provide support to those who raise or disclose concerns
  • Ensure that confidential and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored
  • Ensure robust safeguarding arrangements and procedures are in operation

The procedures and guidance are mandatory for everyone involved in events owned, run, or hosted by the Resource Alliance.

Safeguarding at IFC 2022

Everyone involved in IFC 2022 has a responsibility to raise concerns about abuse (potential or actual) or unacceptable behaviour in order to prevent potential incidents from becoming more serious, to reduce risks to others, and to protect others from risk.

In order to take all practical steps to safeguard everyone attending IFC 2022, the Resource Alliance has established a Safeguarding Committee which is directly responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and monitoring of our safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidance, and from whom support can be gained. The Safeguarding Committee can be contacted via events@resource-alliance.org.

The Resource Alliance is committed to the highest possible standards of openness, honesty, and accountability. In line with that commitment, individuals are encouraged to come forward and voice any concerns they have about any aspect of a person’s safety and welfare during IFC 2022. Concerns must never be ignored with the assumption that all will be well, or that the concern is someone else’s responsibility.

We will ensure that appropriate and accessible means of reporting safeguarding concerns are made available to all attendees of the conference.  All subjects of complaint will be treated with respect and all allegations will be treated confidentially and with regard to due process.
