“If we work together we can do wonders.” Ntombenqaba Precious Petros, bursary recipient
Our theme for IFC 2023 is unite: for disruption, for change, and for impact. Year after year, we hear from our community that attending the International Fundraising Congress is a life-changing experience, both for those who attend and for the communities impacted by their work.
To come together and turn action into impact, we need diverse perspectives. We need to amplify the voices of the young, voices from the Global South, and voices representing grassroots organisations and underfunded causes. In the face of runaway inflation globally, we have reduced ticket prices across the board for IFC 2023, and have introduced an additional measure as part of our commitment to equitable access: the Emerging Leader programme.
“Receiving the bursary inspired me to believe that I can do more. It was a privilege to be able to learn new ways to break norms, find ways to simplify what we are already doing in interesting & relevant ways. Attending […] gently reminded me why I decided to work in a social impact industry and that what I do is not for myself but for the love of humankind.” Samukelisiwe Uys, bursary recipient
The connections made at IFC reach across the globe and span decades; the Emerging Leader programme is a way to bring more people into our community and expand those connections further than ever before. The programme will offer cost-price tickets for individuals who are either under the age of 30 or who work for NGOs with an annual turnover of less than £500,000 (approx. €562,000/US$602,000). However, we know that, for some, even a cost-price ticket is out of reach. That’s why we’re asking for your help.
“I had never previously been surrounded by so many fellow fundraisers with a myriad of experiences, skills, and insights. The ability to learn from these individuals, especially my fellow bursary recipients, was incredible. I cherish those relationships and what those individuals taught me.” Lorrin Van Evra, bursary recipient
With your help, we can support more people to attend IFC this year. In addition to the Emerging Leader programme, we are aiming to offer a number of fully sponsored places at the event, as well as support for travel and related expenses where possible. You can sponsor a masterclass ticket for £1,495, a standard programme ticket for £995, or contribute to the bursary travel fund. Both ticket types are full board and include accommodation, all meals, and more.
