Carmen Barlow (UK)

Head of Communications and Engagement, Amnesty International UK

Carmen is driven by a desire for simple, cut through communication that creates positive social change. Her management approach is non-traditional, emphasising data-led decision making and constant iterative change. In her previous role at Plan UK she led the development of a blood drop period emoji which is available across global keyboards to help tackle period stigma. She is now Head of Communications and Engagement at Amnesty International UK where, in her first year, she led the team to exceed their key targets for 2020, delivering their best year ever in terms of digital fundraising.
