Anita Gallagher (Mexico)

Training Lead, HIPGive, Hispanics in Philanthropy

Anita leads the training program at HIPGive.org, Hispanics in Philanthropy’s international crowdfunding platform. Working with hundreds of non-profits from the Latino community, in the USA and across Latin America to help them position their cause and reach their goal, her expertise in crowdfunding and digital fundraising is firmly based in real-life practice in organisations of all shapes and sizes. A respected consultant, trainer and mentor, Anita transitioned from the Executive Director role of a large regional non-profit to set up her own consultancy in 2012, specialising in innovative approaches in impact and communications. She regularly speaks at non-profit conferences throughout Mexico and the USA and is a passionate advocate for opening up philanthropy. It’s not by chance, then, that she is also the leader of #undíaparadar México, strengthening the culture of giving in Mexico, and was recently asked to serve as a board member for Giving Tuesday worldwide. Originally from Northern Ireland, and with a Masters in International Development from the London School of Economics, Anita has been based in southeast Mexico for the last 15 years where she is a proud founding member of the local symphony orchestra.
