Matthew Patten (Netherlands)

Donor Relations Director, Catalyst 2030

Working with organisations including the Royal National Institute of Blind People, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Diabetes UK, Matthew Patten has spent over 20 years leading high-value and high performing fundraising teams.

Matt is a seasoned relationship fundraiser at heart, with experience in governance, fundraising strategy development and implementation, strategic communications and building, and leading fundraising teams. He has built strong personal relationships with many leading global philanthropists and has raised millions of pounds from individuals, foundations, and the private sector. Matt has built complex strategic partnerships with the likes of Britvic, Fitbit, AstraZeneca, Tesco, and other industry-leading brands and foundation partnerships with Garfield Weston, Wolfson, Wellcome, Skoll, and Mastercard Foundations.

Currently, Matt is mobilising resources to support efforts to build a movement of passionate people who are collaborating and who are close to the issues and the people they serve: leaders and innovators tackling root causes and not just the symptoms of big global issues. Together, they are shifting paradigms of traditional aid models, contributing to economic development, and collaborating to scale efforts globally for people and the planet to thrive. Matt finds this new type of leadership and new way of collaborative working exciting and considers himself lucky to be part of the change.
