Ms. Mehvesh Mumtaz Ahmed has extensive experience in research and analysis across public finance, public policy, and economics in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. She has worked for the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Unit at the World Bank, for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget under Mayor Bloomberg. She has also taught Economics to undergraduate and MBA students.
Prior to joining CAPS as Director of Research, Mehvesh was working in the strategy consulting and social enterprise space in Hong Kong. Mehvesh was a PhD candidate in Political Economy at Princeton University, holds a Master in Public Affairs in Economic Policy from Princeton University, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Philosophy and Economics from the London School of Economics.
Mehvesh speaks Urdu fluently and is conversant in Hindi.
