Ntombenqaba Precious Petros is the cofounder & Executive director of the Masakhe Community Development Project and also works as Coordinator & Advisor at Masakhe Educare Centre. Masakhe is a community self-empowerment organisation in South Africa which emerged as a response to the difficult economic situation in the townships where unemployment is high. Masakhe aims to instill its members with a sense of self-worth, self-respect, dignity, and hope for a future, and supports members find employment and a steady income. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Precious led Masakhe to also become a frontline support organisation, fundraising for and distributing food packs for struggling families, and later coordinating with other NGOs to reach additional families in need.
