Pragna Shekar (India)

Fund Development Manager, Uninhibited

A political science graduate from Madras Christian College and a Period Fellow, Pragna is a Fund Development Manager with Uninhibited, a Bengaluru based nonprofit which works on building safe spaces to destigmatise menstrual and sexual reproductive health in marginalised communities across India.

Pragna has built a dynamic profile working in the menstrual health ecosystem for the past four years, starting as menstrual health educator at grassroots government schools and communities in rural India during her fellowship. Armed with field experience and the reality of menstrual poverty in a rural context, Pragna contributed to and worked in the areas of training and learning development, communications, impact assessment, and fundraising, along with advocacy & strategy.

Her vision is to continually learn while serving & working on taboo topics that intersections with gender, identities, & decolonisation. Prgana seeks to enable uninhibited authenticity in each individual who has to dismantle generational shame, fear, and oppression to reclaim their body, identity, voice, power & agency, and is keen to explore the use of stories and storytelling, safe spaces, facilitation, theatre, and alternative healing as tools in her work.
