Roatchana (Nui) Sungthong (Thailand)

Country Director, World Animal Protection

Nui joined the ranks of non-profit organisations in 2006 after a brief stint with private enterprise. She began in ActionAid International, first as Fundraising and Communications Manager and later Country Director. After that, she joined CSR Asia as Head of Programs. Before leading World Animal Protection Thailand as Country Director, she was Vice President with the DT Families Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the DTGO Group of Companies. Nui has wide-ranging experience in strategy, marketing, fundraising, human capital management, and corporate social responsibility in both private and non-profit sectors. Although mostly based in Bangkok for the last fourteen years, she has worked intermittently in China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, gaining vast experience in the area of rights-based approaches to poverty eradication, through extensive field visits and workshops. Nui holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Ramkhamheang University in Bangkok, Thailand; a Master of Business degree from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia; and a Master of Science degree in Contemporary Asian Studies from University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her current position involves World Animal Protection’s activities in Thailand as part of building a global movement for sustainable animal protection.
