At a time when borders seem to be closing around the world, it’s critical for those whose work revolves around social change to think even more globally and act more purposefully with a shared vision. That’s why we are establishing and re-invigorating our connections with those in the social impact sector from around the world. That outreach includes representation and events in Europe, Africa, India and the Asia Pacific region.
Additionally, we have Resource Alliance Ambassadors in more than a dozen regions who keep us abreast of the needs of fundraisers and other change agents in those areas and how the Resource Alliance can reach and serve them.
Our Africa office combines the passion, dedication, insight and experience of the Resource Alliance with content and programmes tailored to the unique Africa environment. We partner with civil society organisations to increase their influence and enhance their fundraising capabilities, and work with non-profits to help them become stronger and more effective.
The Resource Alliance Africa is headed by Sarah Scarth, an experienced fundraising and communications practitioner who is passionate about helping social impact organisations create diversified and integrated fundraising and communications programmes.
Through our affiliate, Resource Alliance India, we have a proud history of building capacity in resource mobilisation to strengthen the social impact sector in India. We have been reviewing opportunities to refocus our work in India, so that there is better integration among our two organisations, as each endeavours to live up to the promise of our Manifesto.
Following the departure of our valued colleague and RA India Executive Director Payal Randhawa in December 2019, we are establishing a new charter for RA India and will soon be announcing the appointment of a new board of directors to drive this work forward.

The Resource Alliance as been working with organisations in the Asia-Pacific for years. But 2017 saw a major step in engaging more deeply with them when we brought the IFC to Bangkok.
Fundraisers in the Asia Pacific region, and others in the social impact arena in that area, are working passionately and diligently to make their part of the world a better place. Just as fundraisers and change-makers in the UK and throughout Europe, in the US, and elsewhere are. They should have the same resources, and the same high level of learning and networking opportunities.
Just as importantly, Asian fundraisers have a wealth of knowledge to share with us that we can in turn share with our audience worldwide. The Emerge programme has worked with 40 organisations across 15 different countries since 2014, including organisations based in the UK, US, Mexico, India, Lebanon, Thailand, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Honduras, Democratic Republic of Congo, China, Argentina, Tanzania and South Africa.
