Kavya is a Young India Fellow (Batch of 2019, Ashoka University) who completed her Bachelors degree in History from Delhi University (2015-2018). An educational background in social studies and liberal studies, strengthened with on-ground experience, has led her into the space of community development and social work. She has participated with various youth-led organisations and NGOs – in projects such as the construction of a modular school, and as a workshop facilitator, content writer and radio compere. She has experience creating educational modules for drop-out and never-enrolled girls in a government residential school in Panipat, Haryana. Since mid-2019, she has been working at Nirantar Trust, a resource centre based in New Delhi working in the space of gender and education. She works with adolescents – coordinating the learning centres and its alumni, along with the dissemination of the curriculum and learning model, delivering demo sessions and participating in advocacy work for young peoples’ education. In July 2020, she became a part of InHive’s Global Network Steering Committee, which is striving to create a network of individuals and institutions working with Alumni bodies for social change.
