Marcus Missen brings experience from both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors to his role as Director of Communications and Fundraising at WaterAid. As one of the first non-profits to move from transactional fundraising to an engagement strategy, the charity continues to buck sector trends. There, Marcus has strengthened communications and fundraising by inspiring innovation and setting a clear vision. He is committed to focusing on the challenges and opportunities faced by non-profits and believes passionately that the sector needs a rethink to remain relevant, a subject on which he has published a number of thought pieces. Marcus is currently a Trustee for BOND and IBT.
