Richard Casson is a digital communications specialist with 15 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, most of which he’s spent working at Greenpeace and, before that, at Oxfam. Having spent most of those years working as a digital activist, in 2021 Richard switched to digital fundraising and took on the leadership of donor recruitment via Greenpeace UK’s email list. Based on methodologies copied from US political activism, Richard led a series of digital projects that saw Greenpeace UK quadruple the number of regular donors the organisation signed up via email between 2020 and 2022. And in December 2021, he oversaw a programme of work that delivered an all time record for the number of new direct debits Greenpeace UK received via email in a single month.
